Looking for Jesus

Blessed are those who haven't seen, yet believe. —John 20:20
Have you ever wondered why you can't see certain things other people claim are real? For example, have you ever wondered what the planet Neptune looks like? You can't see it. Don't you wonder if it is really there? Astronomers say that it is, but can you believe them? Have you ever wondered if there is really something called a Blue Whale? We have pictures of Blue Whales in encyclopedias and on the Internet. In fact, there have even been people who have said they have swum with Blue Whales. But have you ever seen one? Doesn't that make you wonder whether or not the Blue Whale is real?
The truth is that there are many things in the world you can't see that are still important for your life, like hope, love, fun, devotion, courage, faith, joy, commitment and mercy, to name some. If you spent time thinking about it, there are probably more things you haven't seen but believe exist than things you have seen.
Here's something you need to know: When you see the good things in life, those are ways that God shows Himself to you. That's right. When you see love demonstrated, it's a pointer to God. The Bible says that God is love. When you see something really bright, that's a reminder of God. The Bible says that God is light. There are so many things you see everyday that God is trying to use to show you who He is.
Jesus prayed that we would have "eyes to see and ears to hear." Jesus wants us to be on the lookout for Him. We don't have to see Him to believe that He is there, because He has left us so many ways (clues) to see Him. So, be on the lookout for Jesus. He is the most real thing in the entire world. He wants to be real to you!

- How does God show Himself to you daily? If it is true that the heavens declare the presence of God, have you experienced that before? Do you see God in all that you see everyday?
- Why does God give us the gift of faith? Does that make seeing Him any easier? Why or why not?
