Time to Say No

Today's Scripture

So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you." Romans 12:1-2 MSG

Thoughts for Today

Pornography generates more income than all combined revenues of professional football, baseball and basketball franchises. It is an industry bent on producing an addictive product that will keep people spending their money and coming back for more.

Although the majority of pornography customers are boys and men, it has been reported that 17% of all women struggle with pornography addiction.

In order to make a personal profit, pornographers encourage people to engage in sexual sin. They care nothing about the consequences of broken lives. Our desire for pornography is being fabricated and pushed upon us.

Consider this …

It is time to say no to the lies of pornography. It is time to turn to the truth in the Bible. It is time to ask Jesus for forgiveness and help.

If you want to be set free from the hold pornography has on you, begin to fix your attention on God. Form an accountability relationship with a Christian friend or counselor. Join a support group. It is time for truth. It is time for freedom. Are you willing to take your first step today..

Prayer

Lord, forgive me for my sin. Help me to fix my attention on you. Help me to focus on and embrace the truth in your Word. Change me from the inside out. In Jesus' name …
