1 Peter 3:15-16

But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.

Your obedience to God gives power to the gospel in the lives of those who know you!

This week I shared Christ with someone on an airplane. As I shared, she spoke with a warm heart about some other real Christians she knew. Their Christian lives had left her heart open for my witness. Other times I have shared Christ with people and they have antagonistically referred to "Christians" they knew who were pure hypocrites. Those Christians' lives had closed the door of these people's hearts to my witness.

Remember that your spiritual choices are always about a much bigger picture than your own relationship with God. Yes, your relationship with God is affected. But people around you will see the reality or the façade of your walk with God and that will affect their response to Christ one day.

God wants you to realize today that the impact of your spiritual choices is always much bigger than you are aware of at the time. The best way to live: simply obey God.
