2 Timothy 2:1-2

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

Follow the Lord’s example in the use of your time!

The principle Paul’s teaching in this passage is exactly what we see in Jesus’ life and ministry—the job God has for us to do is too big for us to do. We must partner with other believers around us to get it done.

My job’s too big for me and your job’s too big for you. But as we work together, great things can be accomplished. And some of what needs to be accomplished will be done by others after we are gone.

If you have a ministry role, you should be asking God who He wants you to train and equip to take up that role after you, or maybe even with you—multiplying your work for God through the lives of others.

Jesus did spend time directly ministering to the multitudes. But increasingly as time went by, He spent more and more of His time with the disciples. When His time on earth was gone, they were still there building His Kingdom on earth in the hearts and lives of many.

He wants you to invest spiritually in the lives of others around you as well.
