Psalms 25:11-12

For Your name’s sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity, for it is great. Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way he should choose.

If you want to know God’s guidance, you must clear the pathway!

Are you at a point in your life where you need God’s guidance on a particular issue? Are you desperate for Him to “instruct you in the way you should choose”? Are you wondering why God is not giving you insight into the situation?

Today the Lord is reminding us that the delay may not be caused by Him, but by us! Have you cleared the pathway for God’s guidance in your own life? Are you “the man (or woman) who fears the Lord”? In Psalm 66 David wrote, “If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened” (NIV).

Maybe the first step towards knowing God’s will in your situation is to take some quiet time with God; ask Him what in your life is offending Him. Then ask for His forgiveness and choose for Him instead in that area of your life. Put God first in your life; give Him the respect He deserves. Then watch as He leads your life through even the most confusing circumstances.

As Psalm 25 says, just a couple of verses later, “The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him!”
