God Keeps His Word

"Dear friends, we are already God's children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure."
—1 John 3:2-3

As we look at end times events, I think we need to approach it not only with our minds, but also with our hearts. We don't want to merely discuss these things in an academic way; it should move us as individuals. As God revealed to the prophet Daniel what was about to unfold in the future, he dropped to his knees. He was stunned. He was unable to say a word. His understanding of end times events moved him deeply. And the same should happen to us.

In fact, if we really understand what the Bible is saying about the imminent return of Jesus, then it should cause us to want to live a more godly life. As 1 John 3:2-3 reminds us, "Dear friends, we are already God's children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure." (1 John 3:2-3). We should want to be on our toes spiritually!

When it comes to Bible prophecy, some people might think, I don't know what it means. I can't sort it out. I'll let someone else figure out those things. But we don't want to ignore these things, because the Bible has a lot to say about them.

God must have wanted us to learn Bible prophecy, because 30 percent of the Scriptures are dedicated to this topic. And God wants us to know that He keeps His Word.
