Dealing with anger towards God

October 4, 2011

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

I vividly remember when my father was murdered back in 1970. It’s almost like it was yesterday. And one thing I remember as well was when a few people came up to me and said, “Aren’t you mad at God for allowing your dad to die like that?”

And I replied, “I can’t put the fault on God. Why should I blame Him for the fact that my father ran into evil in this world?”

So often, I meet Christians who blame God for their negative situations. I’ve known some believers who have said, “God has given up on me!” But in reality, it was a result of a poor decision they made themselves. And even if you are negatively impacted by no fault of your own, the fact is that evil exists and you and I live in a world filled with it!

Now, maybe you’ve felt that way in your own life. Things haven’t gone the way you wanted, and you’re stuck looking for someone to blame. And instead of admitting your own fault, it just seems easier to say, “God’s running this show anyway, so it’s really His fault.”

But the truth is that God works everything out for the good of those who love Him. So even if evil befalls you, remember that if you are in Christ, God is working everything out for your good!

IN CHRIST, GOD WORKS OUT EVERYTHING FOR YOUR GOOD. SO INSTEAD OF BLAMING GOD WHEN YOU EXPERIENCE PAIN, REMEMBER THAT HE IS WITH YOU IN EVERY SITUATION.
