Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

                                                                   --1 Corinthians 16:13

We all face those moments in life when we find ourselves in an unexpected situation. And it can seem like things are out of control. Yet, our difficult situations are on God’s calendar, and He knows the very day, hour, and minute they will happen. He has a reason for allowing them to happen at that precise moment.

Isn’t it great to know that God is sovereign over all? Although we have our calendars, day timers, and schedules, we have to come to grips with the fact that there are some things we just can’t control. As much as we would like to, we can’t manage every minute of our days.

But as schedule-driven beings, we often want to simply work our way out of difficulties. But sometimes God wants us to stand still in the middle of a problem and seek His leading because we are just where He wants us to be.

So don’t try to figure everything out when you find yourself in the middle of a problem. Put your PDA away and be still before the Lord.

When you stand still and allow God to work in you…standing firm in your faith…you’ll begin to see His timetable unfold and you’ll come out the other end even stronger in your faith.

I know the temptation is strong to try and take control when hard times hit. Today, pray that God will give you the ability to stand firm and allow Him to work in His time.

WHEN FACED WITH A DIFFICULT SITUATION, GIVE IT TO GOD AND TRUST HIM TO WORK!
