Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. --Hebrews 12:1

The Christian life is not a 100-yard dash. It’s a marathon. It shouldn’t be lived in spurts and jumps and stops and starts, but like a great marathon racer running hard all the way to the finish line.

Let me ask you today, do you think that because you’re a Christian life should somehow be easier? That because you walked the aisle as a child God owes you a comfortable and easy life?

Believe it or not, many believers today think this way! Though few of them would honestly admit it.

Friend, the Christian life demands discipline! It demands hard work. And it demands endurance. The Bible tells us we’re in a war, where the spiritual bullets are real and the casualties are high.

It’s my prayer today that you will renew your commitment to live for Christ today…and every day. And that you will ask Him to help you build the endurance that’s required to finish the race of life in victory!

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE SHOULD BE LIVED LIKE A MARATHON RACER…RUNNING HARD ALL THE WAY TO THE FINISH LINE.
