But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. --1 Peter 4:7-11

This day and time has been referred to as the nuclear age. For the first time in human history it is possible to destroy civilization as we know it with one push of a button. In America, we know the urgency — the high rate of crime increases day-by-day and we’re facing serious social, economical, moral, domestic, and spiritual problems. Believers, it’s time to dial 911.

We are all aware that things are happening and our world could drastically change in the blink of an eye. We don’t have much time prophetically because I believe we’re living on the edge of eternity. Paul said in Romans 13:11, “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.”

As believers, we need to maximize our minutes and make sure we’re not trivializing time. In the passage above, Peter says to keep your head clear through prayer, keep your heart warm in love, and keep your hands busy in service by using your spiritual gift to the witness of the love of Jesus. If Christ returned right now, would He find you investing your time for Him or wasting your time in lesser pursuits?

There are people all around you who need Jesus — those who are lost and damned without Christ. In these last days, it is high time to keep your head clear in prayer, keep your heart warm in love, and keep your hands busy in service and to the witness of Jesus Christ. And to what end? “That in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever.”

IN THESE LAST DAYS, BE A SOLDIER FOR CHRIST INSTEAD OF A SPECTATOR.
