…I now pray before you day and night for the people of Israel your servants, confessing the sins of the people of Israel, which we have sinned against you. Even I and my father's house have sinned.

--Nehemiah 1:6

In order to truly be a difference-maker for Christ, we must take responsibility for our actions.

Here we see Nehemiah confessing the sins of his family and his country. While he remained a servant of Christ, he knew he was partly responsible for his people’s separation from Christ.

Nehemiah did something that is still very important for you and me to do daily; he prayed a prayer of confession and repentance. He realized he couldn’t be a part of the solution until he admitted that he had been a part of the problem.

Also, notice that Nehemiah didn’t criticize. He didn’t condemn. Nor did he get angry with anyone.

Today, I challenge you to take a page from Nehemiah’s book, confess your sins, and become a part of God’s solution. We can truly make an impact for Christ when we realize how much we can do in His strength!

WE CAN’T BE A PART OF THE SOLUTON UNTIL WE ADMIT WE’VE BEEN PART OF THE PROBLEM.
