If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

--2 Chronicles 7:14

It’s easy to get angry and blame others for our own problems and sins. The message of our culture seems to be, “Accuse others. Blame someone else. It’s not your fault!” Far too few people really take responsibility for their actions.

But the Lord says that if we, as Christians, will humble ourselves and confess our sins, He will forgive and heal us. That is a great promise from God’s Word, but it demands that we come to Him with brokenness and humility.

The difference between anger and anguish is a broken heart. How many times has your heart been broken by the Lord?

When we see young women lined up for abortions or when we see a family broken, do we weep? Are we filled with sadness and tears because of what is happening?

I believe it’s time for Christians to be broken and shed tears before the Lord. When we reach the point of selflessness and complete brokenness, then God promises to move among us and heal our land.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANGER AND ANGUISH IS A BROKEN HEART.
