So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

--James 2:17

To paraphrase the apostle James, prayer without works is dead. The Bible teaches that prayer is not a substitute for work but a preparation for work!

Once God begins to answer our prayers, are we ready to be an active part of the answer God gives us? Are we willing to stand up and say to God, “Lord, here am I, send me”?

If we pray for the hungry, we must be ready to feed someone. If we pray for the lost, we should be ready to share our faith. We don’t need to wear out just the knees on our pants but also the soles of our shoes in service to God!

Our prayers should not be stand-alone, stagnant groups of words. They should be life-changing, difference-making, and action-initiating words!

That’s why effective prayer really does require total surrender to the Lord. It’s more than just floating words to heaven to make God happy. My prayer to God is that we will wear out our clothing and our bodies in service to the Lord Almighty!

ARE YOU READY TO BE AN ACTIVE PART OF THE ANSWERS GOD GIVES YOU TO YOUR PRAYERS?
