Someone discovered that the man who built this house had taken extra precautions and preparations when building it including materials such as double-paned windows, thick stucco walls, special eves, a concrete tile roof, more than enough insulation, and a solid foundation.
He prepared for earthquakes and fires, going way beyond the basic requirements to make sure his house was safer and more secure. Just like this stable home, our homes should be the place to stand as the fires of hell and the winds of culture are unleashed against our families today. Satan wants to hammer our kids senseless and while we can’t stop the fire completely from spreading, perhaps we can stop it from coming in our homes.
Dads, we can keep the fires and storms from tearing our houses down by God’s grace. We need courageous parents to provide stability and to get the job done. Jesus is the solid rock. When you build your life, your home, and your family upon Him, it will surely stand. Is your family built upon the Rock or is it on the rocks?
