As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.”

--Acts 9:3-5

The entire book of Acts is filled with inspiring stories of early believers. But one believer — Saul of Tarsus — dramatically experienced the power of Christ in his life on the road to Damascus.

A murderer and persecutor of Christians, Saul — who was later named Paul — was transformed by Christ into a dynamic preacher and evangelist. And he was ultimately used by God to write a large part of the New Testament.

Salvation in Christ is the ultimate defining moment in life. When you accepted the forgiveness of Christ, you became fulfilled as a person. And that defining moment should transform the way you are for the rest of your life!

Today I want to ask you, have you had that defining moment in your life? It doesn’t have to be a Damascus-road experience like Paul’s was. It can take place wherever you are right now… at your desk, on your couch at home, or even on your BlackBerry!

In the Bible, Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
