…for our God is a consuming fire.

--Hebrews 12:29

Living life in thanksgiving and expectation are two ways we as Christians are to respond knowing that we have the hope of heaven.

A third way we’re to respond is to live with a sober, serious mind.

The verse above speaks of the judgment of the holy God. And in view of the fact that God is going to judge this world, we should be “serious minded.”

I’m not saying we don’t have joy. But there’s is a sobriety when we think about the future…and the future of our family and friends who may not know Christ.

Jesus…who is incarnate love…spoke more about hell than any other person in the Scripture. In fact, 13% of the words of Jesus had to do with judgment and separation from God.

Fiery judgment is sure, and we dare not spiritualize the truth concerning judgment. It’s a serious matter to deny, to dilute, and to distort the truth about heaven and hell.

There’s a great deal of confusion out there today. Many voices are vying for our attention about what happens when we die.

That’s why I want to challenge you to read and study your Bible so you can know what you believe and why you believe it.

And it’s my prayer that you’ll love your unsaved friends and family enough to tell them what Jesus says about rejecting Him!

make sharing christ a priority of your life because god will indeed judge all people some day
