Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. --Jeremiah 1:5

Sixty-one percent of women who get an abortion today are unmarried. Out of fear and panic, they wind up terminating the life inside them. Mary — a young, unmarried, impregnated, and impoverished racial minority — would have been a prime candidate for abortion today. But instead she carried in her womb the precious Son of God — our Savior.

Also in Luke 1:41, we meet for the first time John the Baptist — not in a normal setting, but in the womb of His mother, Elizabeth. Scripture says, “And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Isn’t it interesting that a baby in his or her mother’s womb is today called a fetus, tissue, or pc (product of conception)? In Latin, “fetus” means “child,” but somehow it softens the blow to call the baby one of these other “technical” names. And as soon as that product of conception is born, it turns into “my baby.” If you believe the Bible is the Word of God, then the issue of abortion is settled. No questions asked.

The tragedy is that many times believers today are pro-life until it’s their daughter or family member who gets pregnant. Then questions begin to surface and the issue is compromised. But abortion is wrong in any situation because it is the murder of an innocent life. Sure, there are many who believe it’s the mother’s right to choose. But what about the choices of the unborn? Who’s speaking out for them? The choice should be made early on in life to remain pure before marriage so as not to face pregnancy, and to choose life in any situation.

GOD SETTLED IT A LONG TIME AGO THROUGH HIS WORD. LIFE BEGINS AT CONCEPTION, AND THE LORD KNOWS US EVEN BEFORE THAT.
