Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

                                                                                            --Mark 4:23

Perhaps the greatest segregation of today is that of the church of Jesus Christ from the world in which we live. It’s sort of like those Sunday shoes I used to wear growing up.

I grew up for the first ten years of my life in a little town in Arkansas. And it’s true…I didn’t wear shoes a whole lot growing up there. But when I did, I always wore my PF Flyers. Although Sunday was an exception when my mother would make me wear those hard-as-a-brick shoes that I couldn’t even get my foot in. They hurt and blistered my feet, and I couldn’t wait to get home from church and get back into my PF Flyers.

Many Christians today are like those Sunday shoes. They’re never really quite comfortable with their spiritual life. And they’re certainly not able to relate to what happens in worship on Sunday or in Bible study to what happens in the presence of the world. It is so important that you and I understand the Christian life should be lived out fully every day.

If you believe, God can do anything in your life. If you don’t, then He chooses not to work in your life. And whether or not you know it, you need faith—faith to believe in God every day. You may think you’ve got it all together or that you’re strong, powerful, or good enough to make it on your own, but you’re not. You need to live out the Christian life every single day both in your Sunday shoes and in your PF Flyers!

IT’S THROUGH OUR TRUST IN JESUS THAT WE ARE ENABLED TO ACCOMPLISH THE IMPOSSIBLE AND LIVE OUT OUR FAITH IN HIM EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK.
