…“Be saved from this perverse generation.”

                                      --Acts 2:40

Bible teacher John MacArthur says that there are two major factors contributing to the powerlessness of churches in our day. The first is the ignorance of many people regarding the truth of God. The second is those who know the truth and yet fail to live by it.

Trying to be the church of Jesus Christ without a clear message is like playing football without the ball. Our lives must reflect the message of Jesus Christ as members of God’s church. And you and I must be consistent in our obedience to the teachings of Christ through daily living.

There must be an uncompromising commitment and thirst for truth. Many young people today are victims in our world and in this culture because they’ve been told WHAT to believe, but they don’t know why they believe what they do. It’s important to know what you believe and why you believe it. And just as important for your family to know the same.

When you know what you believe and why you believe it, you can openly share with those who are lost without Jesus why you have so much joy and peace. There were many things the apostles did not know. But there was one thing they knew for sure…they were able to face all the odds because they knew the truth.

AS A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH, DETERMINE TO CONFRONT YOUR CULTURE WITH THE TRUTH, CONSISTENTLY SEEK THE TRUTH, AND DAILY LIVE IN TRUTH.
