If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

--1 John 1:9

I have a major concern for the church in America today. And it is simply this: Too many Christians are living lives of defeat, succumbing to the deception of our age.

In a word, too many believers are living a Christian life that is devoid of the power of God!

If you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ for your salvation… if you have accepted his gift of eternal life that He bought through His blood on the cross… then you have been baptized with the Spirit of God, and that very Spirit is resident in you right now.

But too many Christians have quenched the work of the Spirit of God because of sin. They don’t experience a fulfilled and satisfied life because they have unplugged the power of God in their lives!

So let me ask you a straightforward question… a challenging question: Are you quenching the Spirit’s power in your life through sin and disobedience?

If you are, you will never know the power of God in your life. And you will never know the fulfillment God desires for your life.

So my challenge to you today is to confess that sin and ask God to fully allow His Spirit to empower you for His glory. If you do, you will see God work through your life… and you will know fulfillment far beyond anything you could ever imagine!

ARE YOU QUENCHING THE SPIRIT’S POWER IN YOUR LIFE THROUGH SIN AND DISOBEDIENCE?
