Suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

--Romans 5:3-5

The longer I live, the more I realize that it's attitude, attitude, attitude that makes the difference between winners and losers…between success and failure. It’s attitude that advances us in all the circumstances of life.

I'm not talking about just a Pollyanna-type, pie-in-the-sky kind of attitude. I’m talking about the kind of attitude that learns to deal with disappointments and disillusionments of life by trusting God! This is the kind the attitude I'm talking about.

The verses above remind us of that truth. They remind us that the way to keep from being disappointed in life is to allow God to build your character. And if you want God to build your character, you have to learn to deal with the problems and the disappointments of life in a godly way.

You know, there are three tiny, precious, and valuable words that every child of God should learn and put into practice every day. You want to know what those three little words are? Let…it…go. Let it go! It might even be a good idea to write these words on a Post-it note and stick it to the mirror in your bathroom or on the dashboard of your car!

Letting it go was something Joseph was able to do. Rather than living in and grinding on the injustices in his life, he was able to turn loose of those injustices and let them go.

Jesus did the same thing. In fact, Peter tells us in 1 Peter 2:23: “When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.”

So what does this mean to you today? Let God take care of those who mistreat you. Let God take care of your situation. Because if you do, you’ll find that He'll do a much better job than you can!

Let god deal with the problems and disappointments in your life
