Being a strong father in God’s family

August 24, 2011

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.

Colossians 3:18-19

I saw an article several years ago in TIME magazine in reporting what they called the “effeminization of American society.” The piece went on to speak about the emasculation of the home, saying that the home is no longer a place where there are strong male father figures.

You can pick this up in our culture by just watching the sitcoms on television. How many strong fathers do you see portrayed on TV? Few, if any. Most of the fathers you see in pop culture are inept, checked-out, and lazy. And the sad thing is that many children will pick up their attitudes about God the Father from their earthly fathers.

Biblically, psychologically, and sociologically, the father, the leader of God’s family, is vital to the development of children. And so often we see that the child becomes the kind of person that the father is.

So, do you want to know how to be a father who leads spiritually? Set an example first and foremost. Love your wife with the love of the Lord. Love your children and instruct them in the things of God. Be a strong father for your family.

FATHERS, BE STRONG FOR YOUR FAMILY BY LOVING YOUR WIFE AND CHILDREN WITH GOD’S LOVE AND LEADING BY EXAMPLE.

Tap into your only true source of power!

Dear Friend,

When life gets busy, it’s easy to miss your daily time with the Lord. Yet, what you think will save you time actually ends up sapping you of the power you need!

That’s why I want to send you a copy of my popular 365-day devotional book called A Daily Encounter with God.This powerful tool contains a Bible-focused reading for each day that will help you plug into Jesus Christ—your only true source of power.

Along with the devotional, I’d like to send you a copy of my I Am Second story on CD. It’s my prayer that my story will be of encouragement to you or someone you know!

Both of these resources are my gifts to bless you when you give an online donation today. So thank you for giving to help PowerPoint reach people with the Good News of Jesus ’til the whole world hears.
