The Light That’s Been Given To You

December 22, 2011

In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

John 1:4-5

It doesn’t take much looking today to see that the world is in darkness—intellectual darkness, political darkness, and moral darkness. But because Christ has come into the world, we who have sat in the darkness have seen a great Light. On that night when Christ was born, that star punctured the blackened sky and signaled the coming of the Savior. And now God is with us.

The Bible tells you and me that God dwells in unapproachable light. And in our humanity, our fallen state, we can’t know God, nor stand in His presence, or experience His love. We are far away from Him, called “enemies” and “aliens” in His sight.

How could you and I ever stand in the light of the pure, pristine holiness of God Almighty? Well, man could not approach the Light, and so God gave the Light. That night when Jesus was born, when God became a baby and the infinite became an infant, a door began to open and the entire universe began to crack open as Jesus began to pave the way to the Father.

As you reflect on Christ’s birth this year, don’t forget that without Him, you and I would still be in darkness. So take time to reflect on His perfect light that He’s given to you!

APART FROM CHRIST, THE WORLD WOULD REMAIN IN ETERNAL DARKNESS. SO TAKE TIME TO REFLECT AND BE THANKFUL FOR THE LIGHT HE’S GIVEN YOU.

Stand strong for Christ in the coming year!

Dear Friend,

Over the past year, I’ve taken on a number of hot-button issues including marriage and divorce, the exclusivity of the Gospel, and the future of America.

So to help you stand strong for Christ in the coming year and give a defense for the hope that’s in you, I want to send you what I believe are my most important messages from 2011 together in one series called The Best of 2011.

In these 10 thought-provoking messages, I’ll show you how the Bible answers questions like, “How can I have a great family life?”, “Is there any other way but Jesus?”, and “What’s going to happen to our country in the coming years?”

The Best of 2011is my gift to thank you for your donation to PowerPoint this month. It’s my prayer that it would help you make and keep your new year’s resolution to grow closer with your Heavenly Father.

Thank you for your faithful gift. I’m grateful!

Jack Graham
