Living a life of excellence before God

December 26, 2011

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

James 2:14-17

I have a dear friend in south Florida who’s an outstanding businessman. And he has a slogan for his business that is on his stationery. Here’s the slogan: Excellence in all things and all things for the glory of God. I love that.

Really, every believer ought to strive to achieve excellence in every aspect of his or her life. Now, I’m not just talking about doing your job well or being a good friend. I’m also talking about striving for excellence in your relationship with God!

Our God is an excellent God. And an excellent God deserves an excellent response. Once we have received God’s amazing grace, have come the way of the cross, received eternal life in faith in Jesus Christ, then our lives should be a testimony to our gratefulness.

We live in gratitude as true worshippers of God, and we’re motivated and moved to offer up our lives, giving our very best to the Lord because of what He’s done for us. In other words, while faith alone saves, faith that saves is not alone!

As you prepare to enter a new year, commit to living a life of excellence before God, working out your salvation and giving Him your all!

THIS NEW YEAR COMMIT TO LIVING IN EXCELLENCE IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST BY GIVING HIM YOUR ALL!

Experience the story of Christmas like never before!

Dear Friend,

What is Christmas really about? To help you answer that question, I want to send you a powerful DVD that tells the greatest story ever told like you’ve never seen it before.

Called The Gift of Christmas, this video portrays the very first Christmas in a visually stunning, multimedia stage production complete with special effects, a thousand voices and instruments, and even flying angels!

Of course, at the heart of this production will be the simple story of Christmas—the manger, shepherds, Joseph and Mary, the Christ child... and the glorious hope we have in our Savior!

From massive virtual scenery and a spectacular choir and orchestra to dazzling choreography, The Gift of Christmas is an experience you won’t want to miss.

I want to send you The Gift of Christmas to thank you for your online donation to PowerPoint today. It’s my prayer that watching it will become a Christmas tradition for you and your family.

And thank you for your gift to reach more people with the real reason for the season. May God bless you and yours this Christmas!
