Where you can find true security

February 9, 2011

The steps of a man are established by the LORD,
when he delights in his way;
though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong,
for the LORD upholds his hand.

Psalm 37:23-24

As I look around the world today, it's clear that one thing God has programmed into the mind of each person is a desire for safety. People have an innate desire for stability and sureness in their lives. Yet because of the fall, the world in which we live will never offer us the kind of stability that we seek.

So where can we find the safety and security that we truly want?

In Christ alone.

Now, it's wonderful knowing that our sins are forgiven and that we're on our way to heaven. But do you know something even more wonderful than knowing that you're saved? Knowing that your salvation can never be lost!

There's an old hymn that's so true when it comes to eternal security,

More secure is no one ever

Than the loved ones of the Savior

Not yon star on high abiding,

Nor the bird in home-nest hiding.

It's a fact that if you are in Christ, there's nothing that can take you away from him. Though you may fall, you will never be cast off because the Lord upholds you in his hand.

So when doubts creep in, trust that your salvation is not dependent on you and that in Christ, you are more secure than anywhere else.

WHEN DOUBTS ARISE, REST SECURELY IN CHRIST BECAUSE GOD WILL NEVER LET HIS CHILDREN GO.
