Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

--Ephesians 6:13

Do you love your family enough to protect it? You’re probably thinking, “Of course I do!” But do you know how?

We live in a world of possibilities and opportunities. But we also live in a world of frightening vulnerabilities—the internet and its predators, violence, immorality, and more.

As a parent, it is your job to discern the dangers of our time and protect and prepare your children for the real world.

One of the most disturbing tragedies of our times is school shootings. Children who are deeply disturbed have committed unforeseen acts of violence against their peers and adults.

Here are some lessons we’ve learned from living through these violent times:

• Children need adult role models and guidance.
• We must do everything we can to check evil.
• It is important to teach young people respect for adults and people in authority.
• Parents must set boundaries.

And finally, as parents we must love our families enough to be a filter between them and the world. We must provide a spiritual filter between our children and the messages of immorality and sinfulness.

To do that, we must be willing to make hard decisions in order to protect our children. We must be willing to get involved in the lives of our children.

HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR CHILDREN’S FRIENDS?
