How To Live In The Light of Christ’s Return

July 5, 2013

The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.

1 Peter 4:7

I want you to imagine that God told you a secret that He told no one else. You’re walking down the street or driving in your car when you see a blaze of light and hear a voice that says, “Jesus is returning today.”

How would you feel? What would you think? If you’re like many people, you might be scurrying about, trying to make sure things were settled between friends and family members. You’d probably tell as many people as you could about Jesus and lead them into a relationship with Him. I wonder, also, if there might be some things you’d confess and clean up.

Yes, I think most would admit their lives might be different if they knew Jesus was returning. But here’s the question I’d ask: Should it be? Should there be a fundamental difference in how we’re living today versus how we’d be living if we knew Jesus was about to return?

I think if we’re biblical, the answer should be no. We’re to live every day in light of His return. We’re to seek the salvation of all people and live our lives according to the Bible in view of His imminent judgment.

Jesus is returning… perhaps even today. Are you living like it?

SERVE CHRIST EACH AND EVERY DAY, KEEPING IN MIND THAT HE COULD RETURN AT ANY MOMENT!
