Waiting for your eternal home

June 1, 2011

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

Philippians 3:20-21

I once heard an older man who’d lived for many years talk about how he was approaching his death and getting ready for his entrance into heaven. He said, “You know, when I was a little boy, I was afraid of heaven. To me, heaven was a million miles away with a bunch of spires and steeples and streets of gold and thousands and thousands of people I didn’t know!

He continued, “But then, I had a little brother die. When that happened, heaven became a place with one little boy that I knew.” Then he said, “Through the years, my family and friends, including my wife, have gone on to glory. So when I think of heaven now, I don’t even think of the spires and the steeples and the streets of gold. I just think of the many loved ones and friends and my Savior who waits for me there.”

One of these days, you and I will be face to face with the Lord Jesus. And what a wonderful day that will be! We’ll be in perfect fellowship with him forever with all the saints who’ve gone before us.

Heaven isn’t just white clouds and gold streets. So as you look forward to your eternal destiny, look forward to the perfect fellowship you’re going to have with God and with others in your eternal home!

AS YOU THINK ABOUT HEAVEN, LOOK FORWARD TO PERFECT FELLOWSHIP YOU’LL HAVE WITH GOD AND WITH OTHERS IN YOUR ETERNAL HOME!

Our gift to you!

Dear Friend,

At some point, everyone goes through a difficult season, left wondering when God would come through. That’s why I want to send you my new booklet, God’s Promises for Doubt-Filled Days.

In this booklet, I share how the tragedy of my father’s murder revealed to me God’s steady comfort during times of trial. And I share in this booklet the four promises God makes as you search for comfort in the midst of your doubts.

God’s Promises for Doubt-Filled Days is my gift to thank you for your online donation to PowerPoint today, so please request it when you give.

It’s my prayer this resource will help you see how God works his good plans in you—especially during doubt-filled days!
