Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

--Proverbs 3:5-6

Our closest friends and associates are usually those people we get along with best and agree with on most issues.

That’s not a bad thing! Whether it’s a marriage or a business partnership, or just a close friendship, it’s important that these relationships be built around common commitments and values…with a sense of unity and agreement. As Amos 3:3 reminds us, it’s impossible for two people to walk together unless they are in agreement.

The same principle applies to your Christian life. In order to have a strong and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ, you must not only walk with Him, you must be in agreement with Him.

The difference, however, is in your relationship with Christ you aren’t His equal. He is God Almighty, and you are dependent upon Him for your very life and breath! And as your loving Father, He knows what is best for you. So the best thing you can do is agree with what Christ says in His Word and follow His leading for your life.

Which begs the question: Do you and Christ agree on how you’re living your life? Be honest! And if your answer is “no,” then you need to change your direction so that your life will line up with His will. Trust in the Lord, and walk in daily agreement with Him, and He will direct your paths.

MAKE SURE YOUR LIFE AGREES WITH HOW GOD WOULD WANT YOU TO LIVE!
