How We Know The Bible is True

June 6, 2013

“It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Matthew 4:4

I find it amazing how time and time again, archeological evidence is unearthed that confirms the validity of the Scriptures. Take, for example, the Dead Sea Scrolls. These were some of the oldest biblical manuscripts to ever be discovered. And when they were made public, it was astonishing to see how well they match the biblical manuscripts of today.

Not only that, but they also discovered that the Jewish community that possessed these scrolls and existed well before the time of Christ actually expected a Messiah to come who would suffer and take away their sins. While most of the Jewish world at that time expected a physical deliverer, they understood the need for a spiritual deliverer!

This goes to show us two very important truths: First of all, God’s Word is trustworthy in its entirety. Second, a right interpretation of God’s Word has been preserved throughout history. So when it comes to what God says, we can believe it because the evidence shows it’s true.

Here’s what this means for us: Time spent reading the Bible is not wasted because the Bible is true and can transform your life. Dig into the Word often and discover how its beautiful truths can make an eternal difference for you!

HISTORY SHOWS THE BIBLE IS TRUSTWORTHY. SO DIG INTO ITS PAGES REGULARLY AND SEE HOW IT CAN TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE!
