Do you believe?

March 27, 2009

“But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”

--John 20:31

I’d like to ask you a simple question today. Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life?

I’m not asking if you believe in God because statistics will show that the majority of Americans believe that some kind of supernatural being exists.

Do you believe that Jesus Christ is God and that he is who he says he is? If you do believe in Jesus Christ, why do you believe what you believe? Do you believe because that’s what you were taught as a child? Or is your faith yours, and one you can articulate to others?

I’m not asking you this because that’s what preachers do. I’m asking because Jesus Christ is the only way to God and salvation. He’s the only way you can ever hope to bring about real change in your life and character. And Jesus is the only way you’ll ever have real purpose, meaning, and a reason for being.

What’s more, knowing why you believe what you believe will help you share with others about the life you’ve found in Jesus Christ.

I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again. What you believe about Jesus Christ is the single most important and significant thing about you. And putting your faith and trust in him is the single greatest decision you’ll ever make.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY YOU’LL EVER HAVE REAL PURPOSE, MEANING, AND A REASON FOR BEING.
