Do Jews need the Gospel?

November 27, 2012

For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical. But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.

Romans 2:28-29

Every now and then, God will lay something on my heart to preach that I know is going to cause some backlash. Awhile back, I was preaching on the necessity of taking the Gospel to the Jews—a challenging topic because many people believe that, as the chosen people of God, Jews can be saved apart from an explicit belief in Christ.

So I carefully explained why it is necessary for all who can comprehend to have an explicit knowledge of Christ to be saved, keeping verses like today’s at the heart of the sermon. And after the service a Sunday school teacher walked up to me and said, “Thank you so much for sharing that, Pastor.”

She went on, “Today, a young Jewish girl visited our Sunday school class. She had so many questions, and when you were talking about the love of Jesus for Jewish people, she looked and smiled at me. Thank you for telling the truth!”

The truth is that Jesus does love the Jewish people. And as God’s chosen people, Jesus longs for the Jews to embrace Him as their personal Savior. So love Jewish people and share Jesus with them. He’s the hope of the world, and a hope they can embrace today!

JEWISH PEOPLE NEED THE GOSPEL. SHARE CHRIST WITH THEM—TELLING ABOUT HIS LOVE—AND PRAY THEY’LL COME TO KNOW HIM AS SAVIOR!

Become the man God desires!

Dear Friend,

You might think Jesus’ disciples were so extraordinary that you can’t possibly relate to them today.

But the truth is Jesus chose ordinary men to be His disciples and change the world—proof that He uses ordinary guys to do extraordinary things!

That’s why I want to send you two powerful resources today to help you or the man in your life become the man God desires: my 8-CD series called Why Believe – The 12, and my book, Man of God: Study Guide Edition.

In Why Believe – The 12, I give you inspiration—and words of warning—from the lives and beliefs of the disciples to help you live every day with significance and purpose.

And in Man of God: Study Guide Edition, you’ll come to understand the four vital areas of a man’s life that make him who he is!

These two resources are my gift to thank youfor your donation to help PowerPoint Ministries continue proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ, so please request yours when you give today!
