The only thing that really lasts in life

October 11, 2011

The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.

Psalm 119:160

It was my privilege when I was a pastor in West Palm Beach to begin a Bible study for the baseball players who came to train there in the spring. And I met so many baseball players who played baseball by the will of God and were committed to Christ. One of those was Gary Carter from the New York Mets.

In 1986, the New York Mets won the World Series. As always, the TV cameras went to the locker room. And the very first person that they interviewed in the locker room was Gary Carter. There amidst all the celebration, with a microphone stuck in his face and cameras from all over the world running, Gary Carter said, “First of all, I want to thank the Lord Jesus Christ.”

It had been my privilege to baptize Gary a few years before. And when I spoke with him again I said, “Gary, the World Series comes and goes. But what you said on television, putting Christ first, influencing young people and adults all over the world for Jesus Christ, will live on in eternity long after the ball game is over!”

Now, most people aren’t professional athletes and even more don’t have an open microphone to the world. But you can make it your life’s mission to share Christ every day. Live out His grace in your life and tell others about what He has done because that will live on long after your life is over!

GOD’S WORD IS THE ONLY THING THAT LASTS IN LIFE. SO INVEST IN ETERNITY BY LIVING YOUR LIFE TO SHARE CHRIST WITH OTHERS!

Leave a legacy for tomorrow by living one today!

Dear Friend,

In your brief time here on earth, God wants you to make an impact that lasts far beyond your years.  So how can you be sure that the legacy you leave will be strong for generations to come?

In my new 6-message CD series called Legacy, I’ll show you how your legacy for Christ can be cherished long after you’re gone. You’ll find out how a strong, committed relationship with God today can inspire those who come after you. And, you’ll discover how fulfilling your calling as a godly parent will make a lasting impact on your children.

When you live your life for Christ today, you can be sure you’ll leave a powerful legacy of faith for tomorrow!

I want to send you Legacy to thank you for your online donation to PowerPoint today. It’s my prayer that this series will both encourage and equip you to live your legacy now!

And thank you for your gift to reach more people with the hope of Christ. I’m grateful!
