Let your light shine

Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.

--Genesis 5:24

Do you ever wonder if your walk with God really matters? Well, let me assure you, it does. And just in case you have any doubts, I want to remind you about Enoch, a champion of our faith.

You may recall that Enoch didn't die a physical death. Our verse today says, "God took him," which means the Lord miraculously translated him into his presence. And that alone is an extraordinary thing.

But there's something else that is memorable about Enoch, something that you and I should emulate. The Scripture says, "Enoch walked with God." What we can glean from this passage is that Enoch's faithful walk was something that honored and pleased God, especially considering the times in which Enoch lived.

You see, Enoch lived during exceedingly evil times. In fact, the days were so evil that God regretted that he made man, and he prepared to send the great flood as judgment.

But even in those evil times, Enoch walked faithfully with God. And his life was light and a testimony to his generation! And in the same way, you are a light and a testimony to your generation.

So let me encourage you today. Your walk does indeed matter! So be a good witness for Christ.

And even if you feel that you are the last one walking with God on your job… in your community… or in purity… don't stop. Enoch walked faithfully with God through the difficult days, and you can, too.

YOU ARE A LIGHT AND A TESTIMONY TO YOUR GENERATION.

Pause: Resting in God Instead of Stressing Out

Dear Friend,

Do the words rested... peaceful... and refreshed describe you today? Or do the words stressed... rushed... and pressured better describe your way of life?
If you're like most Christians, you'd probably have to admit those last three words more accurately describe your life most of the time!
The good news is that it doesn't have to be this way... even when your life is one big pressure-cooker. And in my new book, Pause: Resting in God Instead of Stressing Out, I'll show you why.
Based on the principles from Paul's letter to the Philippians and Psalm 23, Pause: Resting in God Instead of Stressing Out will help you find true peace and rest in a world that is anything but peaceful and restful. It's the perfect "pause" button you need!
