Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

--Psalm 126:5-6

I have two questions for you today. Do you care? And, do you dare?

God has called every Christian to share Jesus. It is plain and simple. You and I have the responsibility to share the love of Jesus Christ one-on-one with our friends and family members who don’t know Him.

But the sad and tragic fact is that most Christians never lead another soul to Christ. When was the last time you individually shared Christ with someone else? How many people are going to be in heaven because you cared and because you dared to share the gospel?

Let me break this down into three parts for you: task, tears, and treasure.

Our task is bringing people to Jesus. The psalmist is saying in today’s passage that sharing Jesus Christ is like planting a crop. And the only way to plant this crop is by sharing Christ personally with someone else. This is our task; this is our priority as followers of Jesus.

Next is our tears. Great men of God have always wept tears over the “lostness” of people.

In Romans 9:2-4, Paul says “I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart… for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh. They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises.”

What drove Paul was his deep burden because people are lost without Jesus Christ. This burden should continue to drive us today. And our concern for those lost around us should drive us to tears.

Then, finally, there’s our treasure, for it says in Psalm 126:6, “He who goes out weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.”

The seed is the Word of God, and if we’re faithful to take the Word of God to people, it’s the Spirit’s responsibility to drive it home to their hearts. We don’t win people to Christ by our theories or opinions. We bring people to Jesus Christ by the seed of the Word of God.

I pray you will care enough… to dare to share the gospel with someone you know today!

I CHALLENGE YOU TO TELL SOMEONE ABOUT JESUS TODAY!
