The fire of Pentecost was the ignition switch of global evangelism. What the Lord did on the birthday of the Church is just as essential in the Church today. Something was breaking in on humanity, occurring in people who were receiving both the Word of the Lord and the experience intended to ignite them for the mission the Church was being called to.
