Why Reclaiming America? There are those today who seem to think that Christians just arrived from Mars; that we are some sort of aliens who have come to obtrude ourselves into their lovely secular culture. Nothing could be further from the truth. This country was founded as a Christian nation, upon Christian principles. Our government was built upon the teachings that are found in the Scripture. The tri-part type division of our federal government is taken right out of the Old Testament, and the principles were set down by men, half of whom had some kind of theological education. These were the people that formed the Constitutional Convention in this country. Many of them held high positions such as the head of the American Tract Society and the head of the American Bible Society. And we are simply trying to reclaim it for the Christ that moved them to found this great nation. Well, how are we going to do that? How are we going to bring this nation back to God, back to decency, back to morality, back to those things that we wish that America was like again? First of all, Christians need to be involved in every sphere of life: in education, science, entertainment, government, and of course the church. And at the same time Christians need to be evangelizing May I say to you that Reclaiming America without the evangelistic mandate is in my opinion an exercise in futility. We are not going to impose Christian morals and values on a predominant non-Christian culture. It will not happen. They will rise up and throw it off. They will not submit themselves to it. And therefore we need to do both. We can help turn this nation around and back to godliness.
