Completely Alone
by Berni Dymet

2 Cor. 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Have you ever felt completely alone? You know - when you're hurting, aching and nothing anyone says or does can make any difference. It's a black hole - and we're completely alone.

I try to imagine sometimes what it was like for Jesus when they crucified Him. For all eternity He's been in perfect, loving relationship with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. He becomes a man - did amazing things, taught amazing things - loved the rejects, healed the diseased.

And then - then came time for Him to do the most important thing that He'd come to do - to take my sin and your sin upon His shoulders - take it and pay for it by being nailed to that Cross.

And at that time of pain and rejection, they all deserted Him. All His friends, all the disciples fled. He hung on that Cross, completely alone. Even separated from God the Father and the Spirit … by my sin and yours.

I just can't imagine …
