Commissioned – Beloved Women – August 7, 2020

READ: “For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14 ESV)

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: 

It’s easy to believe that the timing to speak up and be vocal only comes once in a while. We think that the atmosphere must be filled with tension before we act or do. We think we have to wait and see if someone else says something before we do, so that we are not the ones stirring the pot. We don’t think it is our place to speak up, much like Esther in this passage. There was fear in Esther’s voice, however, Mordechai reminds her of the people. Mordechai reminds Esther that God can use someone else but what if it’s her that God has sent. Esther was reminded of the same truth spoken from Martin Luther King Jr. when he said “the time is always right to do what is right.”

Let us be mindful that we are the hands and feet of Jesus. May we remember that we have been commissioned (Matthew 28:16) for great and small assignments. May we remember how Esther was at first fearful, but with some encouragement, she then charged forward and she did save her people. 

PRAY: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for using me in small and big ways. The how matters not, it is the why that is most important - for Your glory, Lord. Remind me of my call, of my purpose, remind me that You have called me to do greater things on this earth. I pray for an Esther anointing over myself and this generation of women. I ask that You would remove fear and any imposter syndrome from my thoughts, I have been called for such a time as this. I won’t sit on my gifts, Lord. Here I am, send me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
