God Will Deliver You – Beloved Women – February 3, 2020
READ: “You are a hiding place to me; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with shouts of deliverance.” (Psalm 32:7 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Are you a soccer fan? I've tried to be one. I followed the ball through my camera lens to capture my friend's excitement. The rules of the game were explained but I failed to retain all the subtle details. Not wanting to annoy anyone with incessant questions I cheered when they cheered and focused on taking photos of the game. Being surrounded by their shouts of joy transformed my confusion into celebration.
"You surround me with shouts of deliverance." (Psalm 32:7 ESV) Reading that phrase took me back to the shouts of the crowd that day. But this phrase is not about a crowd shouting. It's about one all-encompassing powerful voice of the Lord on every side. He is with us and yet goes before us, and is perfectly capable of surrounding us as well. He alone is able to deliver us with the sound of His voice.
Whether we need deliverance from shame, fear, or compulsive sins that seek to destroy our lives, God's joyous shouts can bring about the breakthrough we need. He provides at precisely the right time. He hides us, protects us, and shouts over us with deliverance that radically redeems and transforms us body, mind, and soul.
PRAY: Father God, I choose to hide myself in You, I know that You can preserve me from trouble, and bring about my deliverance with a word from Your lips. I rest in Your mighty presence and I welcome being surrounded by Your voice. In Jesus' Mighty name I pray. Amen.
