Making Time for Jesus in the Busyness of Life – Beloved Women – December 13, 2019

READ

“For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.” (Jeremiah 31:25 ESV)

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT

Get up to the sound of the alarm clock. Make breakfast and lunches for the kids. Work all day. Prepare dinner. Answer emails. Fall into bed exhausted. Does this sound like one of your typical days?

It’s no wonder we all go through life weary. Looking at the above daily schedule shows a critical item is missing. In all our busyness, we forget to schedule time with the Lord. Some will reason that they are too busy for prayer or Bible reading. I believe our verse today, Jeremiah 31:25, offers us a way to overcome. Jesus offers to refresh the weary. But how? When we spend a few minutes each day with Jesus, we find a peacefulness that transcends our busyness. God uses our time with Him to prepare us for the day and strengthen us for what’s ahead. His peace will stay with us all day, so that we can fall into bed at night and offer Him our thanks for a beautiful day.

PRAY

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for refreshing us when we are weary. Thank You for Your love and understanding when we forget to include You in our day. Help us to remember to start and end each day with You. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
