Pray Through the Storm – Beloved Women – May 14, 2019

READ

“Do not fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns.” – Philippians 4:6 MSG

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT

Every day, I am reminded that life is a battle. There is always something we are trying to overcome. In these moments, it’s easy to sink into the storms of life. Like a wall, these issues surround us and we become overwhelmed and anxious. When we worry, we often make things worse and harder to resolve.

What storms are you dealing with today? Is it fear, disappointment, loneliness, rejection, or financial loss? I encourage you to pray to God who is able to speak to the winds and quiet the storms raging in your heart. He is the God who wants you to flourish, in spite of your issues, so you can live in the freedom you have in Christ.

God did not promise us a problem-free life, but the gift of the Holy Spirit strengthens us and helps us through. God is able to fill our hearts with His peace, in the midst of life’s trials.

PRAY

Dear Lord God, I need your strength and the courage to overcome the issues before me. Father, I’m so sorry that I have spent more time worrying and less time praying. Lord, please fill me with your peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

REFLECT

Write out the storms in your life and pray through each one.
