Queen Mother – Beloved Women – October 19, 2020

READ: “The man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.” (Genesis 3:20 ESV)

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: The gift of motherhood is one of the greatest and hardest jobs we have been given in life as women. One day we think we have it all under control, and the next, we break down in sheer frustration. One year, our children excel in school and the next year, they struggle to achieve success. It is a blessing to have a network of moms to share the joys and pains of motherhood. Whatever the season, God provides a place of refuge though our sister friends, in our times of frustration.

Imagine Eve’s job as a mother. She did not even have a mother or mother figure to call on when motherhood was tough. When Cain killed Abel, who consoled Eve? Which circle of mom friends organized dinners and checked on her? Imagine Eve’s anguish and loneliness.

PRAY: Dear God, Help me to be the best mother possible to my children. Help me to be a mother who nurtures and protects; loves and supports; and, teaches and plants seeds of wisdom. Be with my circle of mom friends as we stand by one another. Give us the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding and guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
