Receive the Help of Others - Beloved Women – March 25, 2019

READ

Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. - Matthew 7:7 NIV

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT

God created us to be in community with one another. In the hustle of life, it is so easy to be preoccupied with our individual, daily routines that we don’t ask others for support or seek community.  God has provided us all with resources and a network of people to help us alongside life’s journey. We have not because we ask not, is a common phrase that is said often. There are many reasons why we may not ask for help which include pride, fear of rejection, lack of confidence, or having the mindset that I can do everything by myself.

In Matthew 7:7, Jesus is teaching on the importance of persisting in prayer to God. The same principle applies to asking for help with others; we must be intentional and persistent in asking for assistance.  I encourage you to open up your heart, pray to God for direction on who to ask, and give God praise for the help that becomes available.

PRAYER

Dear God, thank You for the support that You provide me from others every day.  Please help me to open up my eyes and heart to draw me to those who can serve as a support.  Forgive me for times when I haven’t received the help that you have made available.  Thank You for always providing my needs. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
