Serving through the Wait – Beloved Women – April 27, 2020

READ: “But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:26-28 ESV)

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Whenever I go out to dinner, I always admire the servers who take the time to talk, tell us about the new features on the menu, and ensure we have a great experience. It makes me think about how they value people, and even if a restaurant is busy, they are intentionally slowing down to ensure their tables are well taken care of.

A waiter serves those he or she is being entrusted to take care of. Regardless of our professions, we are also servers who have been entrusted with something.

I believe in seasons of waiting. It is a reminder that it isn’t a stagnant season, but one in which we are called to serve those we are entrusted to help.

While Jesus awaited His appointed time to die for our sins, He gave us a great example of serving, even towards those who would betray Him. I believe that we are no different. We have all been called to serve those in our world. Regardless of how busy life is, we are to intentionally show value to the ones who we have been entrusted with.

There are  blessings tied to serving others.

PRAY: Father, thank You for giving us Jesus as an example to model our lives after. I ask that You would be with each of my sisters in this season of waiting. Please open their eyes to serving those they have been called to help. I pray that You expand their hearts for Your people and help them to see the beauty in servanthood. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.

REFLECT: How will you ramp up your serving while you wait on what you are believing God for?
