Why We Should Speak About Who God Is To Us – Beloved Women – August 11, 2020

READ: “For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you devoted to destruction. And as soon as we heard it, our hearts melted, and there was no spirit left in any man because of you, for the Lord your God, he is God in the heavens above and the earth beneath.”(Joshua 2: 10 - 11 ESV)

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: How we speak about God and our faith has the potential to influence those around us.  We see this in the book Joshua when Rahab, the prostitute, spoke about the Lord.  She was talking to the spies Joshua sent to view the promised land in Jericho.  In Joshua 2 : 20 - 11, she explained why she was willing to risk her life on their behalf.

She told them that she believed their God was the one true God.  This was not based on her personal experience with Him.  Rahab believed in God based on what she heard about how he delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt and defeated the two kings of the Amorites.

This is a reminder that we too, need to speak about the things that God has done in our lives. There are areas we have been delivered from and battles He has won in our lives. Our willingness to boldly speak about who God is may lead to heart transformation in the lives of those around us.

PRAY: Dear God, Help me to boldly speak about all You have done in my life.  Bring to my remembrance the deliverance I have experienced and the many spiritual battles that have been won in my life. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.

REFLECT: How has God delivered you and won battles in your life?  Who is the Holy Spirit leading you to share it with?
