Faithful, Gentle and Controlled
He quietly started recording my messages years ago at Midlothian Bible Church. He was an electrician at one of the cement plants here in town, didn’t get paid for making sure the sound level was correct and the tape was recording.
This was back in the days when we used cassette tapes. We worked through DAT recordings, all the way to Mp3. Wallace, along with several other laymen, faithfully made sure that the Bible teaching they were receiving could go out to others. And now for over twenty seven years Truth Encounter has been able to teach the Word not only on radio, but on the Internet from its very beginning.
I met Wallace only a few weeks after he came to know Christ. He became one of my closest friends as we met weekly to study the word together. He’s still a leader at Midlothian Bible Church, and when I think of a man who is faithful, gentle, and controlled by the Spirit, Wallace is right there. Without his quiet determination to make sure my teaching got recorded, Truth Encounter would have been impossible. I continue to praise the Lord Jesus for the fruit of the Spirit in his life.
“Now the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Gal. 5:22
LORD, thanks for a friend like Wallace that reminds me that you were working all those years through the teaching of your Word, and thanks for his vision that enabled me to tell my students in S. Korea they could listen to teaching on Deuteronomy and get the daily Devos right there on their Samsung Smart Phones.
