But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son.

                                    (Galatians 4:4)

This weighty statement refers to the timing of God’s greatest action in human history. It is directly related to the time set by God Himself. Christ’s coming to the world as a gift laid upon the doorstep of this world’s heart was a scheduled event and a predetermined advent. Nothing in history was left to happenstance. The world had evolved full term—pregnant with expectation, anticipation, and eagerness to break out in jubilation about Christ’s coming. The world was providentially prepared for the birth of the Savior—politically, socially, and religiously.
