Matthew 7:11

“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”

Learn to trust in the goodness of God!

There are many reasons to trust in God. First, there is our own inadequacy. We do not have what it takes to have a full and meaningful life. We need outside help and so we turn to God.

Second, there is God’s total adequacy. He has all the power that exists in the universe. He created the universe and everything in it. He is able to do everything he has promised and can help us in any situation. Nothing is out of his control.

Third, we know he will use that awesome power on our behalf because he loves us; he has proven the extent of his love at the cross. If he would love us enough to do that, surely he loves us enough to carry us now that we are his children.

But one reason to trust God comes to the front, and that is simply his goodness. God is good. Everything he does flows from who he is. God’s activity in your life is always for your good, no matter how it may look at times.

God wants you to come to him in confidence and experience his goodness.
