Luke 15:7, 10, 22-24, 32

“Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.…I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.…But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate…It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.’”

God’s concern over people’s “lostness” is equalled by his joy when they are “found”!

One of highlights of being in heaven after we die will be experiencing the joy of heaven as people who are still alive on earth come to know Jesus and find God.

Here, Jesus reveals the “joy in heaven”and the “joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents”. God wants you to join hands with him in this life as he reaches into the hearts and lives of people you know and introduces himself to them through you. Join him in this, and you’ll experience the joy of heaven here on earth as you see people encounter God.
